The made to measure dress appeal.

This dress from eShakti makes me feel like a 60’s movie star on her day off.

Remember when clothing was either custom, made-to-measure or always tailored to you specifications? A shopping trip would include picking out the latest fabric at a fabric retailer, then measurements by your tailor would follow as you pick out the style of dress you want out of their catalogue. But it doesn’t end there, you would continue to customize the garment further choosing sleeves length, hem length and neckline to your liking, a process that took weeks to compete. I didn’t grow up in such times, but doesn’t it sound glorious?

Fun fact: My great grandfathers were fabric retails in Italy and my grandmothers were there models, always donning the most fashionable fabrics and styles to advertise the business. Very similar to “street style” bloggers nowadays.

So of course when eShakti offered me to try their online customizable services I was very curious. They offer a large catalog of dresses, rompers, jumpers, skirts, tops and business attire with new garments added regularly. When choosing your sizing they offer 2 options: standard sizing and custom sizing. In custom sizing you must enter your specific measurements required for the garment.
